Liverpool’s 2026/27 season is the second season of the club’s latest adidas partnership. This guide compares the three announced designs, then separates official design information from the details you need to check on a store listing.
“Liverpool 26/27” and “Liverpool 2026/27” refer to the same season. A jersey is usually the shirt; a kit may mean the whole design or a bundle. A shirt-only purchase does not automatically include shorts or socks.
Quick Answer: Which Liverpool 2026/27 Kit Should You Buy?
| If you want | Buy | Because |
| The shirt most people picture | Home | Deep red, the 1989-90 reissue, worn most often |
| Something to wear away from matchday | Away | White with red and grey; the Trefoil logo returns |
| The most distinctive of the three | Third | Black with maroon and silver; only worn in specific fixtures |
The club announced its home, away and third designs during 2026. Any club-channel member discounts or launch prices apply to those channels, not automatically to Flux Jersey. Check the selected store listing and checkout total.
adidas’s Second Season Back
Liverpool and adidas agreed a multi-year partnership in March 2025, with adidas becoming the club’s official kit partner from the 2025/26 season. It is adidas’s third spell at Anfield, after 1985-1996 and 2006-2012.
Use the partnership dates as historical context, not as a guarantee about how a shirt will look or perform in later seasons. The relevant buying checks remain its design, listed version, measurements and included pieces.
The Liverpool Home Kit: 1989-90, Reimagined
The 2026/27 home shirt is a reworking of the strip worn during Liverpool’s 1989-90 title-winning season — the side that secured a record-breaking 18th league title, more than any other English club at the time.
The original 1989 to 1991 adidas shirt is recognisable for its dynamic geometric pattern, and the new shirt keeps that idea: a deep-red base carrying a contemporary all-over graphic that echoes the visual language of the late-1980s original.
The rest of the design is deliberately restrained:
- Clean white detailing on the club crest, the adidas logo and the trims
- A re-imagined print and a new name-and-number style, aligned with the club’s typeface introduced last season, which draws on the wings and talons of the Liver bird
- Completed with deep-red shorts and socks for a unified look
There is a matching goalkeeper kit in a distinctive LFC green colourway, based on the same design.
Design details to look for
The quickest way to tell the 2026/27 home shirt from earlier red Liverpool shirts is the combination of three things: a deep-red base, an all-over graphic rather than a plain finish, and white detailing on the crest, logo and trims. Earlier Liverpool home shirts have used plain red, tonal patterns or gold detailing, so white-on-deep-red is a useful marker.
The name-and-number style is the other tell. The 2026/27 shirt uses a new LFC typeface that draws on the wings and talons of the Liver bird, introduced with the club’s wider identity refresh last season.
The Liverpool Away Kit: Mid-1980s, with the Trefoil
The away shirt takes its cue from Liverpool’s away kits of the mid-1980s. It is built on a clean white base with red and grey detailing, and two details stand out.
First, the adidas Trefoil logo returns alongside the heritage Liver bird crest — a mark associated with an earlier period of the club’s history rather than with the modern performance range.
Second, the fabric carries a bespoke engineered pattern inspired by historic Anfield match tickets, incorporating archival graphic elements. It is a subtle detail, and it is the kind of thing that is much easier to see in person than in a product photograph.
The away kit is completed with red shorts and white socks. There is also a separate away goalkeeper kit in a black and purple colourway with white detailing.
The club’s away announcement was published on 28 July, with sale and planned first-match use on 29 July 2026. Its reference to CLIMACOOL+ concerns the official range described in that announcement; it is not evidence that a Flux Jersey item uses that branded technology.
The Trefoil, and why it matters
The Trefoil is part of the club’s announced 2026/27 away design. A logo alone cannot date a shirt: compare the whole design, season reference and listing photographs.
Do not use the Trefoil as an authenticity test or assume it excludes earlier adidas designs. Dating an original garment requires more evidence than one visible logo.
The Liverpool Third Kit: Black, Maroon and Silver
The third kit is the most distinctive of the three and the easiest to identify at a glance.
It is a sleek black design with maroon detailing and matte silver accents, inspired by European nights at Anfield. A subtle all-over graphic adds texture and movement, drawn from the energy of the crowd.
The Liver bird, the adidas logo and the player name and number all appear in metallic silver against the black base, with adidas’s three stripes running across the shoulders. The kit is completed by black shorts and socks with silver detailing.
It launched on 27 August 2026 alongside a campaign film, Feel the Anfield Effect, featuring club captains Grace Fisk and Virgil van Dijk. adidas also released an Originals Teamgeist 26 lifestyle collection — jackets, track pants, T-shirts, outerwear and footwear — that borrows from the third kit’s design.
Buying the third kit rather than the home shirt
Choose the third design if you prefer black to the usual red. This guide has no verified production totals or future stock data, so it does not claim that third shirts are rarer or harder to obtain.
A colour preference does not establish build quality. Compare the specific item’s version, specifications, size table and photographs rather than assuming all shirts share the same construction.
Goalkeeper, Training and Lifestyle
The three match kits are the headline, but they are not the whole range. For 2026/27 Liverpool also released:
- Goalkeeper designs announced with the home and away launches include green and black/purple colourways. Check separate goalkeeper listings for any other design.
- A domestic training range including a pre-match top, short-sleeve training top, drill top, long-down jacket, hoodie, pant, jacket and tee, plus an anthem jacket
- A DNA culture wear collection, stadium range, hats and accessories
- For the away cycle, a training range, lifestyle apparel, headwear, LFC slides and adidas Spezial trainers in three colourways
Training and lifestyle pieces are a different product category from the match kit. They are cut for warm-ups, travel and everyday wear rather than for the pitch, so do not expect match-kit sizing to carry across.
Sizing: Fan Version vs Player Version
Fan and player labels can indicate different fit options, but they are not a universal measurement standard. Use the dimensions provided for the exact item you intend to buy.
| Player version | Fan version | |
| Fit comparison | Check the player-labelled item’s measurements | Check the fan-labelled item’s measurements |
| Available sizes | Only those selectable on that listing | Only those selectable on that listing |
| Dimensions | Compare the published chest and length measurements | Compare the same measurements on the other item |
Use the size table on the specific product page rather than a general rule, and measure a shirt you already own rather than your body — it accounts for how you actually like a shirt to sit.
For a child, use the item’s own size table rather than assuming a particular lettering or numbering system. Check whether the listing includes just the shirt or additional pieces.
What to Check Before You Buy
- Confirm which kit you are looking at. Home, away and third are three different shirts with three different designs; a listing that shows one and describes another does not agree.
- Check the version. Compare the two listings’ actual measurements and available sizes; do not automatically go up one size.
- Check personalisation. Names, numbers and patches at Flux Jersey cost extra. Review the selected options and total before ordering.
- Read the seller’s own policies. Shipping and returns terms vary, and personalised items are often treated differently from plain ones.
- Confirm the total at checkout. The figure that matters is the one after size and any printing are selected.

Who makes Liverpool’s 2026/27 kits? adidas. The club agreed a multi-year partnership in March 2025, and 2025/26 was adidas’s first season back — its third spell at the club after 1985-1996 and 2006-2012.
What colour is the Liverpool 2026/27 away kit? White, with red and grey detailing, red shorts and white socks. It also brings back the adidas Trefoil logo alongside the heritage Liver bird crest.

Which season is the 2026/27 home kit based on? Liverpool’s 1989-90 title-winning season. The new shirt keeps the deep-red base and the all-over geometric graphic of the original 1989-1991 adidas design.
Are Liverpool kits the same price as last season? The club’s home and away launch announcements referred to unchanged prices in its own channels. That is not a price promise for Flux Jersey listings.
Where to Start
