The Portugal jersey references for 2026 share an ocean theme: red and green with tonal waves at home, and white with sweeping teal waves away. The contrast is a design choice, not evidence that one shirt has better performance or that every retailer offers the same construction.
The red home shirt’s wave treatment
PUMA’s December 2025 home release describes the wave pattern as a reference to Portugal’s maritime roots. In the current Flux image below, the thin tonal lines keep the red body dominant rather than replacing it with a contrasting graphic.

Look at the neck and cuff treatment together with the pattern. A V-neck in a photographed listing is an observable design detail; it does not establish the fabric technology or exact fit of a similarly named manufacturer model.
The white-and-teal away reference
The March 2026 away announcement describes a white base crossed by teal wave graphics. The catalogue image shows a lighter design with larger contrasting shapes and a central crest, creating a different visual balance from the red home shirt.

The home pattern stays within the red palette; the away graphic uses larger teal shapes against white. Compare that scale as well as the base colour when choosing between them.
Keep the 2025 launch distinct from the 2026 cycle
PUMA’s first Portugal-kit launch in January 2025 is a separate reference from the ocean-themed cycle. A 2025 design should not be redated simply because a newer shirt is now available. Compare the full pattern and the stated year, rather than using a PUMA logo as a season test.
The distinction also matters when comparing men’s, women’s and long-sleeve products. Those choices need their own images and specifications; a general Portugal guide cannot establish one universal cut or construction.
Use the design story before the item check
Start with the colour and pattern you want. Then open the exact listing for measurements, sleeve length, included pieces and selected printing. The home-versus-away comparison focuses on those visible differences, while the Portugal sizing guide explains how to compare garment dimensions.
Manufacturer releases document their own design stories and products. The original catalogue images here show the referenced Flux listings; they do not verify manufacturer technology, official authorization or match use for those items.
